Expertise

Dr. Nicholas Ziegert is a lawyer admitted in Hamburg with extensive experience in the financial and digitalization sector. After studying law at the Universities of Tübingen and Kiel and completing an LL.M. at New York University, he obtained his doctorate at the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg. His dissertation deals with venture capital investment agreements.

Dr. Ziegert held various management positions at M.M.Warburg & CO, including in Corporate Finance and as Head of Young Entrepreneurs and Venture Capital Funds. From 2019 to 2022, he was Director/Chief Digital Officer at Warburg Bank. He is also the founder of OWNLY FinTech GmbH, a BaFin-registered payment institution that creates asset reporting software.

In addition to his professional activities, Dr. Ziegert is involved in various committees and institutions. He is a member of the “InnoFintech-Programm” advisory board of the IFB- Investitionsförderbank Hamburg, a member of the Committee for Founding and Financing of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, a lecturer at ADG Scientific e.V. on the topic of digitalization and a member of the Business Angels Netzwerk Deutschland e.V. (BAND).

He also regularly gives lectures and publishes on the topics of digitalization, digital wealth management, banking and supervisory law.
